Denver Show height of my year then...

I don't get as excited as I used to about concerts. Overpriced, late starts, short sets, and exhorbitant TM fees have just about killed my interest. It's been a rough year for me like a lot of people but I've always been a huge fan of Hagar and when the 'Foot CD came out, I bought it. 2 months later I see the show announcement for Denver and it's only $40! Even I can afford that!! I managed to talk a couple other people into going too. They didn't think was serious at first, then I let them hear the CD. They were sold instantly. I expected the show to be good, but I was completely blown away! This is what a rock band SHOULD be. I expected the guys to just go through each song as it is on the CD, the normal 1st release "sell the CD" format that most bands seem to do. But these guys ripped it up! While each song was not just recongizable and true to form, they also were much longer without becoming boring. I didn't notice the songs were being played longer until the show was over and they'd played almost two hours. There was only one cover song, a Who tune I think but I forget, it's been a couple months now since. I do remember though how freakin' awesome the sound was! The quality was 2nd to none, and the volume was great...ok, I coulda used a little more volume, but I still felt my chest pounding. I would go see these guys many more times if I could afford the travel. I hope you guys come back to Denver next summer when hopefully I'll have my life on a better track.

While this was by far the best night of the year (or three) for me, it also ended up being one of the worst. But I'm trying not to think of the negative and just remember how great the guys in Chickenfoot made me feel for a couple hours one night in Denver in Sept 2009! I hope this band will put out at least another release or more and come through Colorado again. Maybe next time Red Rocks in July??? That would be the ultimate! If you haven't seen Chickenfoot yet and have the chance, don't miss it for anything! In my opinion, this was the best quality/value of any concert in years!
