If it wasnt for you guys, and the release of your new album, I probably would have said fuck it, and killed myself by now because I feel trapped with no way out, but now, well now, Im still in the same boat, but I got an oar, and its called Chickenfoot, and it will get me through my misery one day at a time.
Thank You, for being so real, and so talented in your music, I love you guys and wish you the best!

Chickenfoot’s debut album certified Gold

Chickenfoot’s debut album was certified GOLD by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) last Thursday, Sept. 10th.

Congrats to Chickenfoot for selling 500,000 albums! Pretty impressive for a hard rock band to do that in the year 2009!

Congrats Chickenfoot!...though this is only the very beginning!/|\

Wow, You guy's are so fresh and Slammin. You make Van Halen seem like a dirty old diaper!!!
Peace,EJROCKER.

Happy Birthday Professor Satchafunkilus! /|\

My name is B-RAD, and I have been a huge fan of Sammy Hagar and Van Halen, as well as Satraini for years, and I have looked up to these guys for inspiration in their music for many years, since I was a teenager.
I learned to play guitar when I was 21, but havent done much in the past ten years due to depression and TBI, but now every time I hear their new track "oh yeah" it makes me cry, i mean really, it brings tears of joy, pain, and anger all in one, because of the raw, unedited soul in this band, they are going to go far man.
I am grateful, and very thankful to these guys for making me realize that my life isnt so bad after all, through the years I have been kicked when I was down, shit on, taken advantage of, and at one point, almost left for dead when I sustained my severe head injury, but much like the guys in this band, I keep going because I know theres something out there for me thats bigger than what I could ever imagine.
Thank you guys, for inspiring me yet again, to rise above the Hell I am in, to aspire to do better, to want to live instead of die.
I am so proud of you guys, and pray that you succeed at your mission to rock the world on its ass, I have dreamed of being able to do what you guys do, but have realized that Im just not that grade or caliber to pull it off, I am happy to say I am a lifetime follower of these guys, and if I ever get to see them in concert, you best believe I will be crying in the audience, because thats how strong of an influence you have on this torn up, weathered soul of mine.
God Bless you Chickenfoot, God Bless you each and every day youre alive, and on tour, and may He keep you from harm and keep you focused and on top of your game.
If it wasnt for you guys, and the release of your new album, I probably would have said fuck it, and killed myself by now because I feel trapped with no way out, but now, well now, Im still in the same boat, but I got an oar, and its called Chickenfoot, and it will get me through my misery one day at a time.
Thank You, for being so real, and so talented in your music, I love you guys and wish you the best!

cool...I knew it!!!they are #1 and on top independent album :>...really cool...and on hard rock album chart...\m/

Yes Chad, please keep Sammy alive. Germany needs to see The Foot. It seems that the audiences are throwing enough things at Sammy. He doesn't need his band mates nailing him in the coconut with drums of mass destruction! We would greatly appreciate it if this type of incident didn't take place again.
Long live The Foot! /|\

Dear Mr. Smith,
Perhaps you could refrain from killing your singer? I, for one, would appreciate it. I have tickets for the Tahoe and Greek theatre shows and a free form jazz show is not what I want to see ;)
I sure hope Mr. Hagar is doing well today!
It’s all fun and games until someone loses a singer
henhouse out

I agree, please Chad keep Samster alive and well. I have VIP in Toronto, perhaps they will be supplying helmets??? I wish I would of been there, at least far enough away from the flying debris. Had a nice 3 mile run with the new album its keeping me motivated!! please stay safe you guys... Maybe 3 should bolt the drum kit to the stage... ha ha ha!! night night..Leah

Just recovering this morning from the gig at Shepherds Bush Empire London. Best gig I have been to
for many years. Chad tried climbing on his drum kit when organising the crowd chants. He fell over, knocking them over and drawing blood.
Sammy got hit on the head by a flying drum at the end of the show as Chad destroyed his kit. Rock and Roll !
The music was awesome and a really great atmosphere. They played all the tracks off the album and for the last encore finished with Deep Purples Highway Star. Two hours of the best rock around.
Satch was inspired.

Mike, what a way to celebrate your birthday by kicking off your European tour! /|\

getting a little boring around here, whens the foot gonna drop some new stuff on us? like some new store items, or some interview footage.
speaking of interviews, great interview on rockline the other night, and i saw some footage of mike and sammy saying no van halen, chili peppers, or satch solos will be in their upcoming tour. im a little dissapointed cause i saw satch last year and he is amazing. and ive never seen van halen so id love to sometime WITHOUT crazy drunk eddy. 'subtle hint intended'
but i see that they have to establish their OWN place in rock history, which they certainly will. but in the future it would be cool.
anyway...
how bout the my kinda girl video? i hope itll be a actual music video, not just footage, and that it is able to be bought, so everyone can embrace their inner foot.
and will there be any sf concert dates? berkely is fine if thats all ur doing, but come on, Sf is home to half of u!!!
either way, hope to see you guys soon, good luck on this tour. and if u want to invite me backstage and chill at the show, i shall be more than williing. 'nudge nudge, wink wink'
show ur love by tatooing the foot on ur ass! 'how was it sammy?'
long live the FooooooooT!

I brought this CD to our band rehersal and played it for my bandmates who can be
real critical about any new music this day in age and I gotta say there was immediate +
reaction to it. Some CD's like Jeff Becks newer stuff you need to listen to
a few times B4 it starts growing on you. But I think the blend of music these guys create
the simplicity mixed in with Satch's diabolical riffs and Chad Smith's "Bonham like" drumming
style added to the hint of VH vocals make this record vary likable. Also Sammy's voice seems to
have matured into more of a Matallica gutsy sound instead of the "I can't Drive 55" annoying shrill.

After seeing Chickenfoot live in San Francisco, I was truly wounded. In a good way. In a fantastic way. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it was nowhere near the caliper of what I saw that night.

As for the album, the packaging is already hot! Available in both vinyl and CD versions, the cover is printed with heat-sensitive ink that reacts to the touch causing the picture to appear or fade.

Inside is some of the best rock music I have ever heard.

Sammy was quoted as saying that Chickenfoot sounded a lot like early Zeppelin (a comment which quickly earned him a lot of heat.) But after hearing this album, I have to agree that Chickenfoot’s music is just as powerful as Zeppelin. Besides the combined talents of Joe, Sammy, Chad and Michael, the surprising changes in these songs are but one element that makes them exciting and memorable. Just when you think you know where the song is going, it changes and lights up into something completely different. It’s a pleasure to listen to, an honor, really.

The intro to “Avenida Revolution” slithers like a forbidden snake up your spine. Chad’s drums grab you RIGHT NOW. This song is an unexpected explosion, an electric tidal wave of sound with a dirty, nasty, dark, heavy rock beat. Sammy’s scream at the end, buries it deep. Satriani, Smith and Anthony all have small solos which highlight their outstanding abilities.

In “Soap on a Rope,” Joe’s guitar quakes with riffs reminiscent of SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughan) and is accompanied by a bend uuuuuup that takes you up with it. There’s also a transition where the guitar moans like a human voice in harmony with itself—a brilliant interjection. "Soap on a Rope" makes you feel good.

“Sexy Little Thing” forces you to move your ass. Satriani’s guitar opens the song like a mandolin, then quickly kicks into gear. It’s one of those catchy tunes you can’t get out of your head.

“Oh Yeah” takes on a darker undertone. At the end of the first musical phrase, it tastes a lot like the chord progression in the Beatles’ “Because,” one of my all-time favorite songs. It builds and explodes, then falls back down, rising again with a guitar solo.

"Runnin' Out" is a political statement about the struggle to hold on to hope. "Long after the mud has settled, you left us with a dirty man..." and "we're running out of heroes" are clear messages about disenchantment with politics.

“Get It Up” has a melodic, rolling bassline that really stands out. It’s so full of energy, you can’t escape its impact. The repeated references to the word "round" are intriguing. Even Joe's guitar seems to convey the feeling of swirling. Chad gets a chance to wail on drums and Mikey can clearly be heard screaming his distinctive backing vocals, giving it all he's got. This is the sound of Chickenfoot.

“Down the Drain” is another song that captures Chickenfoot’s voice from the first note. I love the lyrics “do me when I’m dirty.” Those words really seem to convey the power of this band. Based on the teaser of this song on Chickenfoot's website, I had initially thought this song lacked substance. I wanted more than what I heard. But being able to hear the entire song, I find it loaded with substance. The music here doesn’t lack for anything. Chad's and Mikey's contributions are forefront in "Down the Drain." And Sam’s scream at the end just seals this song, wraps it up, seals it nice!

My least favorite is "My Kinda Girl." It's a full-force, rocking song, but it doesn't stand out for me.

As for “Learning to Fall,” there is something beyond the words here, beyond the melody. It drifts just below the surface and weaves itself with Joe’s guitar and the beautiful flowing harmonies. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Sam’s voice contain so much depth. It reveals something intimate about him that he feels compelled to share and yet wants to guard because maybe it’s just a little too personal to give away—and would they get it even if he did? But it shines through anyhow; he can’t help it, and it glides and caresses like fine cognac warming your insides.

This is by far my favorite. At one point, the guitar rises like a rose out of ashes—truly a captivating listening experience. My only criticism is that when they played this live, I wish they would have given me time to recover before they went into the next song. I missed the first half of “Turnin’ Left” because I was so taken with “Learning to Fall,”I couldn’t tear myself loose!

Joe’s guitar proficiency is in its glory in “Turnin’ Left.” This is a heavy-hitting, hard-driving rock song that burns rubber right from the start. Again Sammy’s and Mikey's combined screams open this song full throttle, accompanied by the hammering beat. Is that a scream combined with the squeal of the guitar or just a perfect blend of musicianship? Great high-energy piece.

“Future in the Past” begins rather funky, then turns the corner and takes on a middle-Eastern flavor. It spins like a belly-dancer's flowing silk veil, taking you in different directions, then climbs into a hard rock bend. This is another favorite for me. There are a lot of twists here. I think the lyrics contain more meaning than they originally exhibit.

“Bitten by the Wolf” (bonus track on vinyl version) didn’t grab me at first. But when it did, it became another of my favorites. I heard dimensions to Sammy’s voice I’d not heard before, except moments he'd given us a taste of in Van Halen’s “Apolitical Blues.” Sammy can sing the blues. Only a singer with this much depth of soul can pull this off to this height. Some strategically-placed emphasis on certain words like “muddy,” unleashed by the gravelly sound of a raw blues slant, go through me like a jagged stab of lightening.

Chickenfoot has single-handedly revived rock ‘n’ roll! This album is destined to become a classic.

There is not a bad song here.

This is it 'Foot'ers! Round two of a rockin' tour! (First time around, if you missed their pre-tour shows.) NYC show ROCKED! Hey Eddie & Al, you can suck it. These guys are the real shit, man. Sammy and the boys are blazin' a new trail! The Red Rocker sounds simply amazin'. Will Ferrell, aka "the Chadster", is killer on the skins! Magic Joe with the magic tone-he da man! And, of course, the best bass player and harmony vocalist around, Mad Mike. I just want this summer to move quickly cuz these guys are comin' to NY & NJ in late August. I'll see you there. And yes, I went old school and bought the CD the day it dropped..........

awesome!!!Chickenfoot is the best!!!

I like the heat activated cover for the CD but I really think they should have put small car window stickers of the logo in every album/CD. Spread the word about CF like NIN on the back of cars did a few years back. Since it's too late now, I hope they still do it cuz it's a cool ass logo.

I would just like to thank-you for an excellent album. There is not one track on this album that does not rock. I purchased the album from Best Buy, uploaded it Itunes, and downloaded the entire album to my Ipod. I can't stop listening to this album; its that good. I am looking foward to seeing the Band perform live at the Beacon Theatre later this Summer.

A long time fan of Sammy it is awesome to hear him hit it hard with
the Foot. Been waiting what seems like forever for this CD to hit the shelves.
These guys absolutley have the right recipe for kicking some serious Chicken ASS!!

Incredible, incredible all the way through!!

Hey Guys! TO Round the Live Shows, one song should be picked by each band member from their respective musical pasts! My personal Suggestion:

Van Halen - Humans Being. You guys can pick whatever you want after that :-)

See you in NYC

I just found out over at the Talk To Joe board that the little triangle inside the jackets have a bunch of different blurbs, Magic 8-Ball-ish.

Mine says: "Yes, Of Course", what does YOURS say?

"No Doubt About It" My question was question: Will CF go #1?

My CD says "Think Again". I actually bought two vinyls and two CDs, so I have several triangles between them...but I don't want to post them all and spoil the fun. I'll hold off for a bit.

What does everyone else have?

Today I ran my first 3K to Chickenfoots new album of course!! It has given me so much motivation and my luck got even better today. Just happened to roll the dice on ticketmaster today and to my amazement there was VIP availability... my hands were shaking the whole time and this is going to be the best Father's Day gift for my husband ever!!! Chickenfoot rocks like no other...Where have these guys been hiding from each other all these years?? ... the happiest girl in Ontario, Canada!!!

The CD is the perfect motivation tool. Every morning I get up and I can't wait to put my MP3 player on. The mornings have been beautiful and before I know it, I have an hour of cardio under my belt! What a way to start the day! Yeah! Thanks for the inspiration CHICKENFOOT /|\

I agree with you serious jujufoot!! since I got this on my ipod I want to exercise even more and I have it blaring in my truck all the time!! they should have a WII fit program with this music on it!! ha!ha! I wish I had speakers on my MP3 so everyone in the Y could hear how awesome it is!:) here's to staying in shape with Chickenfoot this summer!! take care..Leah

Hey jeanette, I was gonna bring my "rotten" shoes! LOL!

Hey axeshredder, thanks for the heads-up on those walls, nice work by that guy! I've got all of them in rotation on my auto changer gadget.

Hey ChicKenfoot... thanks for the amazing album! You guys really rip it up.

Was anyone else half-expecting Will Ferrell to come out bald with an "I'm not Chad Smith" shirt on last night during SNL?

Got my copy the first day out at 10:30 am and have been rocking out since. I've been a fan of all these guys for a long time especially Joe (been a fan of his for 10+ years). I've a sold few copies myself by letting friends listen to my CD.:-) Thank you so much for making a stop in NC. Got tickets and can't to see you guys.

Congrats on the #1 Billboard debut, y'all deserve it. "Oh, Yeah" !!!!!

Gradually, we started talking about doing something more serious, but we needed a guitarist. Somebody smokin' - somebody who could take us to the Promised Land."

Enter one Joe "Satch" Satriani

Let's all give this band 110% support as they have all paid their dues !

I look forward to the KC show in August and many more

Cheer's from Tulsa, Oklahoma

Chickenbutt : )

Excellent album, these fellas really bring it from start to finish. The Philly road test show was outstanding ---- Sammy, where can I find a Pie-Pollo shirt? That's awesome... Keep kicking ass - -see you in A.C.

Like most everyone else here I cannot stop listening to this disc! My Wife & I bought 2 on zero day. Feelgood album of the decade! I really hope that a stadium tour is on the horizon, it's really the only way that everyone who wants to see them will be able to. I suppose that if your new band's biggest "problem" is that you can't even come close to supplying the demand then you're doin' alright.

Hat's off to the FOOT!
Stompin' the competition!

p.s. Somebody said that they heard somebody say "Did Joe forget how to play guitar?" I answered to that: "Was the guy deaf or just stoopid?!" Joe is phenomenal in his role as "stunt guitarist" (borrowed from FZ about Vai) and I love this new outlet for him. Been a fan for near 20 years & this is some of my favorite stuff he's done yet.

p.s.s. What I would REALLY love to see is the FOOT doing one song from each members' original catalog: One Joe tune, one RHCP tune, one VH tune & one Sammy song. THAT would RULE!!!

smooches,
» Phy³

I know Sammy's cousin. I not going to say anything about him/her because I don't want to get involved with anything legally.

I haven't been this pumped about an album since 5150 came out.... The Philly Road Test show was phenominal. Got my Atlantic City tickets too!!!

love the video, love the song, love the album ...
how can the tour be anything less than awesome !!!
N.C. is patiently waiting for Sammy & the boys to come to town.

I'm so excited for these guys! I would love to see this album hit #1. C'mon, we can't let Eminem stay in front of Chickenfoot!! I bought SIX, so I'm doing my part! I've been listening to it non-stop and I DIG EVERY SINGLE SONG! Future in the Past is my favorite! VIVA LA CHICKENFOOT!!!!!!!!!!!

CHICKENFOOT needs to go number 1. WE already know it's a classic album. Now we need to cement that in history and make it hit num. 1 on the charts. See you in NYC!

Man like all of you here i havent taken this CD out of my car stereo since i got it. i listen to it at work on my mp3, in my car and at home almost 24/7 since i've had it, and it's not gettn old yet. My favs are Down the Drain and Sexy Little Thing but 10 out of the 12 songs are great, that doesnt happen much when you buy a CD these day. Thanks a lot Sammy, Mike, Chad & Joe. You guys are Fuckin awesome! (can I say that word here? Awesome?) hope to see you soon back up here is Seattle at a better venue than last time. WaMu theatre, the Paramount a couple of nights...somewhere that sounds good and WILL NOT get over crowded like last time.
Over all rating on this CD in my oppinion? (not that i'm anybody) 9/10!

Bought 2 copies of the LP and one of the cd. My husband and I can't stop listening. We are like teenagers playing it over and over again. You guys are way to popular to be playing at the venues you are. You need to play the arenas so everyone gets a chance to see you play

I know I speak for many when I say this is the kind of music I've been waiting to hear for the last 14 years. Thanks for making a great album and saving rock and roll!!!!

this just proves that people still love good honest rock music, congrats guys looking forward to seeing you in cork, ireland. love the album my fav song is definitely sexy little thing but all the songs have a hook that keeps you nodding your head, ah the chad smith/mike anthony groooooooooooove.
